About Acupuncture

Veterinary Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment option complementary to regular veterinary medicine to provide comfort, wellbeing, and improved quality of life for your pet. Acupuncture controls and reduces pain, stimulates nerves, regenerates tissues and restores normal physiology for health and wellbeing.  Acupuncture should be considered in animals with intolerance to some medications such as NSAIDs.  Acupuncture successfully treats many conditions negating the need for drugs and/or surgery.

Acupuncture and TCVM is an effective treatment for mobility issues such as:
  • Arthritis and Chronic Pain
  • Degenerative Joint Disease
  • Spinal Paralysis and Disc Disease (IVDD)
  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
  • Post-operative and Injury Recovery
Acupuncture and TCVM should be considered for animals with mobility problems or spinal paralysis:
  • Not eligible for surgery due to age, health conditions or cost
  • Post-surgery recovery plan
  • For maintenance with animals that cannot tolerate NSAIDS for pain relief on an ongoing basis.

Acupuncture for Other Pets

Acupuncture for Cats!
Cats can benefit greatly from acupuncture and TCVM.  Cats seem to enjoy acupuncture and become quite relaxed.  Some common conditions successfully treated include:
  • Constipation and Megacolon
  • Obesity
  • Kidney disease
  • Mobility issues, especially in older cats.
Bunnies, Guinea Pigs, and Others!
Acupuncture and TCVM can be used to treat most conditions in other species as we do in dogs and cats.
I have successfully used acupuncture to treat mobility issues and paralysis in bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other species.

Senior Pets
Older or geriatric dogs and cats can benefit from TCVM and Acupuncture.  Acupuncture treatment can improve mobility and control pain.  Quality of life comes from mobility and freedom from pain and TCVM can improve the quality of life and extend the life of your older pet.
